Dear Anonymous,
They come by. And I look forward to this. Their greeting.
They are grateful for a coffee card. A warm, hand knit hat or neck warmer (thank you Dear Anonymous). This morning I could have used more gloves, mittens, more hand and body warmers. Those go quickly. But the promise of a hot cup of coffee helped.
And off they go.
Mikes' hands are even cold this morning and he never seems to feel the cold. But he lights up telling me about distributing the toys Dear Anonymous provided this week.
'One girl she looked up to her mama and said 'Mama look she (the Barbie) looks like me!'. Mike was beaming.
It was a dark skin Barbie with natural hair that now has a happy home. The astronaut Barbie was also a hit. He tells me the fireman Barbie was adopted by a little girl whose father is a firefighter, but presently lives at the shelter with mom.
Mike tells me the little lego figures get shared and pieces get swapped by the kids at the shelter.
Mike reveals:
'I made it last two days so I could have fun for longer.' For him.
We are now assembling a bag for Mike to distribute of coloring books, sticker and activity books and paper pads for the kids.
