Dear Anonymous,
Responding to a photo of Mike another friend who knows the streets well wrote in response:
'This kid is all our storys'...we come from the bricks.'
This morning Mike takes a backpack filled with donated hats and some clothing items he says he will share at the clinic he is headed to. We get hot coffee. He watches as guys come by my car to pick up a few items. He watches over the process and I appreciate this.
'We come from the bricks.'. This is a quotation from a friend who was the first person in my life to express the phrase 'having a brick as a pillow' to refer to being on the street. Thank you. Your insights and open heart helped me see so many other open hearts, that have bricks as pillows.
