Wikipedia also indicates that forsythia is used as a conspiracy theorists' "fake cure" causing pharmacies to be over-run in Contagion (2011 film). Who knew.
I know them as one of my children referred to them. Banana flowers. And their bright yellow ochre, a color and pigment I am not normally driven to, becomes a super star and a balm to my mud season lows.
