He puts on the new coat, warm and clean. He is carefully folding up his old coat to hand to me to add to the bin of donated items the guys are welcome to pick from.
He does not say much but I know it is intentional, as he was 'accused' by fellow street buddies of selling items. So this was a gesture, at least, of good will.
