Dear Anonymous,
As promised, he shows up with his hair down ready to be photographed. He shows me the brand new coat he got here last week is torn at the bottom pocket, the lining revealed. Living on the street and sleeping outside is tough in so many ways and very tough on outerwear. I'll be on the look out for an extra large coat.
Several friends are not here and I wonder about them. No one knows exactly where they are. Their behaviors challenging for their street brothers and sisters.
There is a little gathering and a bin of clothes I lug out of the car is dispersed. Thank you. Warm vests, sweatshirts, coats, gloves...and those socks. Thank you.
A big hit today were mens boxer briefs. They were some popular.
Some are digging in for the winter. Some are growing frustrated unable to get housing due to background checks and insufficient vouchers.
But there were coffee cards today ( thank you ) and hand warmers ( thank you ) for one brief moment things were just a tiny bit better.
